- W4246304864 abstract "Recent innovations in hybrid metal matrix nano composites with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have the capabilities to meet the growing demands in emerging engineering applications due to their excellence in mechanical, thermal, and physical properties. The processing techniques and selection of reinforcements for CNT based nano-composites is quite challenging due to their higher level of dependency in the performance of the composite. The powder metallurgy route can be employed as an attractive route since it is easier to integrate the CNTs into the metal matrix than any other method and it offers flexibility in different stages of composite manufacturing. The effect of milling time, volume fraction, reinforcements and its size, wettability, and dispersion of CNT along with ceramic reinforcements on the matrix materials are also analyzed. This review focuses primarily on the recent advancement in the properties of the nano composite reinforced with CNT. This review notes that the addition of CNT and other reinforcements at the nanoscale can enhance the hardness, tensile strength, compressive strength, coefficient of thermal expansion, wear, and friction behavior of the composites." @default.
