- W4247493857 abstract "The majority of burn wound cases in small animals involve electric heating pads, hot water bottles, automobile mufflers, electrosurgical ground pads, hot water scalding, and through abuse or malicious intent by humans. Other types of burn wounds identified are caused by house fires, chemical exposure, electrical currents, and radiation. Fluid therapy is the most important stabilizing treatment in patients with burn wounds. Multimodel pain management in burn wounds is often most effective. Treatment methods of debridement may include some or all of the following: autolytic debridement and second intention healing; enzymatic debridement; mechanical debridement wet-to-wet bandages; and surgical debridement full thickness or tangential. There are two ways to surgically excise burned tissue: fascial excision and tangential excision. In any kind of burn injury, prompt treatment with antimicrobial dressings or debridement and closure of the wound is standard of care to avoid infection and sepsis." @default.
