Landslides often occur in Malaysia where the weather is hot and wet. Hence weathering process is more rapid and uneven. Fractures will form on rocks. Further erosion and weathering will cause the rock to break into boulders. Rain will loosen soil and a landslide is said to occur when the boulders and soil move. Buried boulders can disrupt civil engineering projects especially piling and hill cutting. Road leading to a hilly resort area in Hulu Selangor is winding and prone to landslide during rainy season. Seismic refraction and 2D resistivity methods were employed to image the subsurface. The objective of the survey was to obtain subsurface information, such as sliding plane, which could explain the occurrences of the landslide area. The surveys are part of the study to rehabilitate the slope.Permalink: https://doi.org/10.4133/1.2923647FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems 2006ISSN (online):1554-8015Copyright: 2006 Pages: 1820 publication data© 2006 Copyright © 2006 The Environmental and Engineering Geophysical SocietyPublisher:Environmental & Engineering Geophysical Society HistoryPublished: 30 Sep 2008 CITATION INFORMATION Mohd Nawawi, Rosli Saad, and Sukri Ghazali, (2006), Seismic Refraction and 2D Resistivity Surveys for Slope Remedial Works at Hulu Selangor, Malaysia, Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems Proceedings : 193-201. https://doi.org/10.4133/1.2923647 Plain-Language Summary PDF DownloadLoading ..." @default.
