- W4248564689 abstract "Our take-home message, based on a multivariable analysis, is that nonmodifiable factors, such as body mass index and RENAL nephrometry score are the main drivers in postoperative renal function after partial nephrectomy, and that regardless of approach (clampless or unclamped), low ischemia time may not have a significant impact on long-term renal function. On this account, these findings agree with emerging literature that stresses the primacy of nonmodifiable factors in the determination of postoperative renal functional outcome after partial nephrectomy. 1 Lane B.R. Russo P. Uzzo R.G. et al. Comparison of cold and warm ischemia during partial nephrectomy in 660 solitary kidneys reveals predominant role of nonmodifiable factors in determining ultimate renal function. J Urol. 2011; 185: 421-427 Crossref PubMed Scopus (293) Google Scholar Editorial CommentUrologyVol. 80Issue 4PreviewThis article provides an analysis of factors impacting ultimate renal function after open partial nephrectomy using clampless vs clamped procedures with warm ischemia. The main findings are that body mass index and RENAL score were the main predictors of de novo stage 3 chronic kidney disease (CKD), whereas surgical approach was not a statistically significant predictor. However, in the subgroup of patients who underwent the clamped procedure, longer warm ischemic interval also correlated with an increased incidence of de novo stage 3 CKD. Full-Text PDF" @default.
