The new Editor-in-Chief is Professor Päivi Åstedt-Kurki, PhD, RN, and the new Associate Editor is Professor Marja Kaunonen, PhD, RN, both from the University of Tampere, Finland. We are grateful to the former editors, Editor-in-Chief Professor Åshild Slettebø from the University of Agder, Norway, and the Associate Editor Dr. Lennart Fredriksson from the Centre for Research and Development, County Council of Gavleborg/Uppsala University, Sweden, for the great job they have done to develop and promote the journal. We wish them both the best for the future. We are honoured to be taking over as editors and have a high opinion of the experience of the editorial board and the referees of the journal. We look forward to having a good collaboration with the board of the Nordic College of Caring Science, especially with the chairperson Dr. Camilla Koskinen, and with Wiley-Blackwell and their representatives. The owner of Scandinavian Journal of Caring Sciences the Nordic College of Caring Science (NCCS) celebrated its 35th anniversary just last year. We as new editors perceive it important to keep the journal on its high level and are very glad to inform that the impact factor of the journal has increased this year to 1.215. The high-quality journal means that there will be plenty of high-level manuscripts. We as editors, as well as the publisher, work hard to keep the turnaround times as short as possible to be able to publish the articles soon. We are happy to invite manuscripts from different countries all over to the world. Also good reviewers are needed. Nowadays, the journal is in the electronic system, which works very well. We are grateful if the invited reviewers will answer to the invitation as soon as possible. We are making a scientific journal together, authors, reviewers, editors and publisher. Scandinavian Journal of Caring Sciences, as well as Wiley, has partnered with Publons, a valuable new service dedicated to supporting improvements in peer review. Publons aims to motivate peer reviewers by giving them credit for their contributions in a format they can include in résumés and funding applications. Reviews will remain blind and unpublished unless journal and reviewer agree otherwise, meaning that the reviewer's name will only be associated with the journal and reviewer comments will not be published. Scandinavian Journal of Caring Sciences is the official publication of the NCCS. The emphasis is on research that has a patient, family and community focus and which promotes an interdisciplinary team approach. Of special interest are scholarly articles addressing and initiating dialogue on theoretical, empirical and methodological concerns related to critical issues. In addition to original research, the Journal also publishes reviews, metasyntheses and meta-analyses. All articles are expected to demonstrate respect for human dignity and accountability to society. In addition to the journal, one of the central aims of NCCS is to arrange an annual conference in relation to the annual assembly. Next conference will take place in March, 2017, in Bodo, Norway. It will be a good venue also to present new research results and further develop the collaboration. We are looking forward to meeting all of you in there. More information will be on the web pages of the NCCS. It will also be a good opportunity for you to meet us, Editors, face to face and give your feedback and present your ideas to develop the Journal. When this Journal is published, we, in Finland, are just attending the National Nursing Science Conference in Turku, with about 500 delegates around the country. We will also use that opportunity to market Journal of Caring Sciences and NCCS to the wider Finnish audience." @default.
