Dr. Franciosa implied that we saw proarrhythmic effects with the drug. We wish to correct that implication. We observed no change in inducibility of ventricular tachycardia or frequency of ventricular ectopy by Holter monitoring and concluded that the drug has little potential for inducing arrhythmias. We also found that the drug enhanced atrioventricular conduction and suggested that it could facilitate the ventricular response in patients with atrial fibrillation, an effect that is shared by the inotropic catecholamines.Several other statements in...References1.
