Responses are recorded on a five-point Likert-type scale, from Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree. Overall, NEO-PI-R's domain factors and facet scales have good internal consistency reliabilities and test-retest reliabilities. Its validity has been established by a great amount of research that has supported the universality of the five-factor structure and the relationship of factor and facet scores with outcome variables. In spite of a lack of validity scales to detect response distortion, NEO-PI-R has been widely used in both research and practice in areas of personality psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, career development and counseling, clinical psychology, and healthcare." @default.
