- W4256366985 abstract "A spectrum of hemodynamic perturbations is manifest, with the pattern and severity dependent on the site of right coronary artery (RCA) occlusion and the extent of ischemic right ventricular (RV) and right atrial (RA) involvement. This chapter illustrates the changes in RA and RV pressures during the progressive ischemia of right coronary occlusion which may be commonly observed in patients. Simultaneous RV and left ventricular (LV) hemodynamic patterns often demonstrate constrictive/restrictive physiology during acute RV infarction (RVI). Patients with RVI often present with striking abnormalities of right-heart hemodynamics. Under conditions of RVI, the strength of RA contraction is an important determinant of hemodynamic stability. Most importantly, reperfusion-mediated recovery of RV performance is associated with excellent clinical outcome. Patients with RVI and hemodynamic compromise often respond to volume resuscitation and restoration of a physiologic rhythm." @default.
