- W4256602425 abstract "Three types of two-layer anti-reflection coatings capable of producing zero reflectance on glass of index 1.51 are discussed. All three types consist of a high-index inner film and a low-index outer film and use the same low-index film material (MgF2 with n1 = 1.38) but various high-index coatings. The first design consisting of two quarter-wave films requires n2 = 1.7 for producing zero reflectance on glass at 1μ wavelength. The reflectance minimum of such double quarter-wave coatings is extremely sensitive to thickness variation of the low-index film and very much less influenced by mismatching of the high-index coating. The second type of coating consists of a thin high-index (t2<λ/4) and a thick low-index (t1 >λ/4) film. This combination can yield zero reflectance for all values of n2 > 1.7. The third coating type uses one half-wave and one quarter-wave film. With coatings of this type two reflection minima which become zero for n2 = 1.9 can be obtained. Experimental coatings of the three types were used for anti-reflecting glass in the near infra-red. The coatings were prepared by high vacuum evaporation of magnesium fluoride, silicon monoxide and cerium dioxide.Trois types de dépôts, formés de deux films Anti-Reflexion capables de produire une reflexion nulle sur verre d'indice 1.51, sont discutés. Ces trois types, sont constitués d'un premier film à indice élevé, recouvert d'un film à indice bas, employant le même materiau pour le film à indice bas (MgF2 avec n1 = 1.38) mais différents dépôts à indice élevé. Dans le premier modèle constitué par deux films d'un quart de longueur d'onde, n2 doit être égal à 1.7 pour produire une reflexion nulle sur verre pour une longeur d'onde de 1μ. La reflexion minimale de tels dépots est extrèmement sensible aux variations de l'épaisseur du film à indice bas, mais est moins sensible à un manque d'uniformité du film à indice élevé. Le deuxième consiste en un film mince (t2 < λ/4) et d'un film épais à indice bas (t1 >λ/4). Cette combinaison permet d'obtenir une reflexion nulle pour toutes les valeurs de n2 > 1.7. Le troisième est constitué de deux films λ/2 et λ/4. Avec des dépôts de ce type on peut obtenir deux minima de reflexion qui deviennent zero pour n2 = 1.9. Des dépôts expérimentaux de ces trois differents types ont été employés pour verre ‘anti-reflexion’ dans la region de l'infra-rouge. Ces dépôts furent faits en évaporant sous vide MgF2, SiO et CeO2." @default.
