In this paper, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations are used to investigate the hydrodynamic characteristics of a supercavitating vehicle model for various angles of attack, and the simulation results are validated experimentally. When the blockage ratio is less than 0.002295, the blockage effect on the cavity can be neglected. However, for available water tunnels and model sizes, the blockage effect is unavoidable, changing the free and critical angles of attack in the hydrodynamic force curves.
