- W4280544923 abstract "Plant–microbe interaction studies have garnered significant attention from the scientific community in the recent past due to their possible implication in sustainable agricultural practices. Our existing knowledge in this front confirms that chemical molecules, signals, and crosstalks act as the major drivers in the process of plant–microbe interaction (PMI). Remarkable progress has been made toward the understanding of how plants respond to microbial colonization, with special attention to gene expression profile, small and long noncoding RNA molecules, and metabolites. In an effort to understand the nature of chemical crosstalks, several plant- and microbe-originated metabolites involved in PMI have been characterized. Chemical signaling pathways can occur in a localized or systemic manner and are vital to both the recognition and adhesion processes. The global molecular recognition central to PMI encompasses communications between plants and microbes (both ways), and between microbes and microbes. In this chapter, we briefly summarize the process involved in PMI with special focus on the chemical communication and signaling mechanisms between plants and rhizosphere microbiota." @default.
