- W4283075354 abstract "Dictyota ciliolata is a brown alga rich in bioactive compounds. In vitro anticancer activity of green synthesized silver nanoparticles from the aqueous extract of D. ciliolata seaweed extract was evaluated in the present study. Physicochemical characterization of the synthesized nanoparticles was performed using UV-analysis, FT-IR, SEM and DLS, followed by the evaluation of anticancer activity on A549 lung adenocarcinoma cells. The nanoparticles were found to be spherical with a 100 nm average particle size and a zeta potential value of −36.1 mV. Silver nanoparticles exhibited 82% toxicity to A549 cells with an IC50 value of 5 μg/mL. The nanoparticles induced DNA fragmentation and also inhibited cell migration in A549 cells. Antiangiogenic activity was exerted by the synthesized silver nanoparticles, as evidenced by the inhibition of tertiary blood vessel formation in CAM assay. The developed silver nanoparticles exerted potential anticancer and anti-angiogenic activity on non-small cell lung cancer cells." @default.
