Pressing the brakes, clutch, and accelerator on a repetitive basis while stuck in heavy traffic or on a long journey is very painful for the body. In this chapter, a cheap and efficient system is discussed to solve these problems. The authors have designed a model based on adaptive cruise control (ACC), an automotive feature that allows a vehicle’s cruise control system to adapt the vehicle speed to the environment. The system proposed is modified to makes it a less complex, flexible, and low-cost system. The first phase of the system needs the user’s current speed information, which can be taken through the analogue speed controller. Next, the user needs to provide their desired speed. Then, the system needs to know the distance to the next vehicle, which can be obtained from an ultrasonic sensor attached in front of the vehicle, followed by inputs to be taken through Arduino. After analyzing inputs, Arduino processes data and gives the desired output." @default.
