- W4283651524 abstract "The Covid-19 virus, which first appeared in Wuhan, China in December 2019, has adversely affected the whole world. In addition to the tragic losses of lives around the world, the economies of countries have also been seriously affected by this situation. Many international companies, which can be said to have large business volumes, couldn’t withstand the devastating impact of the virus and are either still struggling to survive or they have already shut down. The sports sector has also suffered seriously from this situation. In this process, sports have moved away from the focus of entertainment, and instead, fitness has occupied an important place in people’s lives for the purpose of healthy life and well-being. Therefore, athletes, sports teams, and fitness companies in the sports and exercise sector have reviewed their communication strategies and developed new strategies. The social isolation process has spread the use of technological elements in communication such as social media. In addition, the athletes maintained continuity in team communication by organizing virtual meetings and virtual cycling, yoga, and pilates sessions. Innovative players and clubs have produced content including video diaries, Instagram takeovers, and Zoom drop-ins to give fans an insight into how they are handling the pandemic. Communication technology use can help teams and fitness sector companies interact during times of physical separation. However, this worst pandemic in the history of mankind may lead to a revolutionary overhaul in years to come. Nonetheless, Innovation in Sport (IS) must be at the forefront of governments, clubs, and the sport sector as all of us usher in a new area for research and development promoting values for all in the society. In this part of the book, it will be revealed what kind of innovations related to communication in the sports and exercise sector were brought along with the Covid-19 pandemic." @default.
