- W4285036194 abstract "In this study, various weight fractions (0 wt% to 7 wt%) of multi-walled carbon nanotubes were incorporated onto woven kenaf/recycled polystyrene (MWCNT/KF/rPS) laminated composites. The MWCNT was incorporated using spraying technique and the flexural properties of the composites were investigated. The laminated composites were fabricated using hot press method. The flexural properties of the composite samples were evaluated by applying three-point bending test according to ASTM D 790–10 standard and the results were supported by morphological observation. It was found that the addition of MWCNT increased the flexural strength (σflex) and flexural modulus (Eflex) of MWCNT/KF/rPS laminated composites. Addition of 1 wt% MWCNT produced the optimum σflex and Eflex values of 17.22 MPa and 1053.71 MPa respectively, compared to other laminated composites. The morphological observation of the composites fracture surface showed that delamination failure occurred in all the MWCNT/KF/rPS laminated composites. The result of this study showed that MWCNT played a significant role on the flexural properties improvement of woven KF/ rPS laminated composites." @default.
