Tooth loss in the elderly affects nutritional intake because the elderly tend to choose foods that are soft or easy to chew, resulting in reduced nutrition and nutritional problems in the elderly. Objective: To determine the relationship between tooth loss and the nutritional status of elderly prolanis participants at the UPTD of the Cilaku Health Center, Cianjur Regency. Research method: Cross Sectional was conducted on 36 elderly respondents participating in prolanis at UPTD Puskesmas Cilaku, Cianjur Regency in 2021 measured using BMI. The results of the study: The data showed that 47.2% of the elderly had normal nutritional status, 27.8% of the elderly had less nutritional status and 25% had more nutritional status. The largest respondents were women with 22 respondents (61.1%) and 14 respondents (38.9%). Based on age group, the largest number of respondents was in the 60-69 year age group with 24 respondents (66.7%), and in the 70-79 year age group as many as 12 respondents (33.3%). The results of the analysis using the correlation test obtained a p value of 0.001. Conclusion: Because the significance value of 0.001 is smaller than 0.05, it can be said that there is a relationship between tooth loss and the nutritional status of elderly prolanis participants at the UPTD Puskesmas Cilaku, Cianjur Regency. When viewed from the level of strength of the relationship seen from the output correlation coefficient, the result is -0.512, meaning that the level of strength of the relationship between the variable tooth loss and nutritional status is -0.512 or is said to be very weak correlation. If viewed from the direction of the relationship, the correlation coefficient in the results above is negative, namely -0.512, so that the relationship between the two variables is not unidirectional, thus it can be interpreted that the more teeth loss in the oral cavity in the elderly can reduce the nutritional status of the elderly." @default.
