- W4285109083 abstract "Intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) is a common pathophysiological process in clinical severe patients, and the effect of intestinal I/R injury on the patient's systemic pathophysiological state is far greater than that of primary intestinal injury. In recent years, more and more evidence has shown that intestinal microbiota and its metabolites play an important role in the occurrence, development, diagnosis and treatment of intestinal I/R injury. Intestinal microbiota is regulated by host genes, immune response, diet, drugs and other factors. The metabolism and immune potential of intestinal microbiota determine its important significance in host health and diseases. Therefore, targeting the intestinal microbiota and its metabolites may be an effective therapy for the treatment of intestinal I/R injury and intestinal I/R-induced extraintestinal organ injury. This review focuses on the role of intestinal microbiota and its metabolites in intestinal I/R injury and intestinal I/R-induced extraintestinal organ injury, and summarizes the latest progress in regulating intestinal microbiota to treat intestinal I/R injury and intestinal I/R-induced extraintestinal organ injury." @default.
