- W4285127462 abstract "Global pesticide production and its subsequent widespread use for agriculture in various spheres of the earth and its impact thereof have tremendously increased. The present study targets to provide a comprehensive picture of the potential impacts caused by the unabated use of pesticides on various components of aquatic ecosystems. The pesticides are intruded into water bodies through different pathways, which directly affect their physicochemical and biological properties. Pesticide influx and exposure have been observed to alter the population dynamics of aquatic biota by controlling survival rate and reproduction behavior to a level that may cause irreversible changes in the species composition, and subsequently reduce the biological wealth. The transfer and transport of pesticides through the food chain work as primary stress to ecosystems, potentially dangerous for human health. Pesticides endanger the continuation of major ecosystems by disrupting ecological interactions between species and reducing biodiversity. Unintentional pesticide-related fish mortality involves killing thousands of aquatic fauna like fishes, frogs, turtles, mussels, and water birds. Therefore, the risks and responses associated with pesticide use as a topical research area have to be addressed globally to protect our aquatic environs from further degradation from the wrath of ever-increasing pesticide application." @default.
