- W4285129695 abstract "The CO2 injection into the reservoir formation during enhanced oil recovery has shown considerable changes in the host formations. The conventional CO2 injection has shown drawbacks in the host geological formation leading to formations damage. Because of which the nanofluids came into existence, applications of nanofluids in improving the oil recovery has been fascinating due to its potential in unlocking the trapped hydrocarbons from the reservoir. The nanofluid is a combination of nanomaterials and fluids, which are mixed and injected into the reservoir formations. Designing nanomaterials during nanofluid flooding is a crucial factor in controlling the mechanisms of capillary forces, wettability alteration, disjoining pressure, interfacial tension, and asphaltene precipitations. In addition, other external operating conditions (temperature, stress conditions, salinity, porosity, and permeability changes during the injection of nanofluid) are necessary for performing effective nanofluid flooding operations. The chapter discusses the limitations of conventional CO2 injection and nanofluid flooding on formations." @default.
