- W4285133036 abstract "Geostrategic security is about geostrategy and diplomacy that a nation may follow for maximising overall national security by governance. In this setting, a nation needs to think and premise strategic plans as part of the global system dynamics. The primary focus is to ensure that the nation is not considered a deceptive entity by others. A nation is an organic independent entity with a personality of its own. The personality of a nation will be different from the individuality and associated personality of its people. The span of continuum is important in this regard. All these have to be taken into consideration in the national security strategy of the government. The interactive relationships and associated sentiments between nations can vacillate and keep changing all the time. It’s important they not be based on hatred and deception. Rivalry between nations is common. But enmity can be counterproductive. The government and the people of a nation may also have different views about another government and its people. Ultimately, it is the government that has to decide the geostrategic interventions with another nation. Geostrategic relations are not new; they are very ancient between human systems. A well-crafted geostrategy can support the desired survival requirements of a nation. International system dynamics works on the national system dynamics in matured geostrategy. For this, a nation needs to focus on its existence along with others without being insular. This is mentioned in the chapter as the philosophy of “unitary survival at any cost” or “survival with all.” Selective existence aligning against others has only proved pyrrhic and disastrous in the end. Governments should not shy away from the ideas of statecraft practised by nations in the past. They are sound examples for examining the statecraft for incorporation in modern geostrategy. This chapter looks at some of the statecraft practised by governments in the past. Governments should not lose sight of diplomacy in geostrategic security. Diplomacy is not geostrategy; it’s one of the tools. Geostrategy is a long-term plan. The former can be used for effective geostrategic applications in national security governance. To that extent, every citizen of a nation is a passive diplomat. In the interactive relationship of nations, one can be hierarchically different from another. This aspect is explained briefly in the section of the hierarchy of nations. It needs further research before committing about the hierarchical stasis of nations in terms of national security and sapien responsibilities. In this hypothetical hierarchy, it is believed a pyramid of nations can be drawn based on their geostrategic returns and dividends in the global scenario towards the overall national security maximisation." @default.
