The current state-of-the-art procedures for making battery electrodes are inherently insufficient for producing multifunctional materials. Textile substrates (e.g., fiber, yarn, fabrics, and garments) with carbon derivatives can advance the recent demands. The textile industry is concentrating on future electronic textiles (e-textiles), which meet basic traditional standards and also perform a variety of additional functions in response to technology advancements (new electronic devices and systems) and the needs of various communities (e.g., army, navy). Carbon derivatives are getting many outlooks as a result of mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, electron mobility, chemical stability in acidic and basic media, and thermal stability over high temperatures, morphological diversity, and large special surface area. The motive of this review is to address the latest information on the utilization of carbon nanocomposites in electronic textile materials and components (e-textiles). Numerous carbon derivatives such as carbon nanotube, activated carbon, graphene, and carbon bag, we draw a line on which derivatives go along with e-textile and their fabrication techniques. Performances of carbon-based polymer composites have also been focused on in this chapter. Although carbon-based polymer nanocomposite materials have a wide range of applications in fuel cells, heating devices, lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors, energy harvesting, storage devices, and sensors, carbon-based e-textiles have the potential to dictate a new route. For a circular economy, environmental aspects must be considered, from the design of an e-textile product to its end life and their recycling process has to be done sustainably." @default.
