Despite the wide spectrum applicability, an enormous volume of these chemicals is entered into the environment and water sources in different ways. They can generate several infectious illnesses, like leukemia, and different types of cancers. So, pesticides removal has been in the hotspot to reduce the hazardous and side effects of these materials. Adsorption and degradation are among the most commonly employed approaches for the removal of pesticides. These methods are simple, easy, available, and are useful for large and industrial scales. In these methods, different materials are used as adsorbents and catalysts. Among different materials, porous and crystalline metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and their derived nano constructs with exceptional surface area, elevated adsorptive capability, and the ability to modification has emerged as a novel class of candidates for mitigation of environmentally related pollutants. MOFs are constructed based on the interaction between metal ions and organic linkers. Due to the importance of pesticides and their removal from the environment, this chapter investigated the recent progress and developments in applying MOFs to remove these hazardous materials. We hope that this chapter opens new doors for a better understanding of MOFs and their properties for application in pesticide removal." @default.
