- W4285241471 abstract "As significant factors that affect take-over performance, secondary task, take-over mode and request time, investigating the influence of the three factors on the take-over performance is the crucial to enhance the effectiveness of driver right take-over. The influence of these three factors on the take-over performance under man-computer cooperative driving conditions was investigated by employing the UC-win/Road simulator, adopting the Jonckheere-Terpstra (J-T) test and the variance coefficient method in terms of the driver’s response time and vehicle take-over steady state. The findings showed that shorter request times (6 s to 3 s) and larger loading secondary tasks (audio-visual combination) significantly caused worse take-over performance. Driver response time (steering) was reduced from 3.43 s to 1.825 s, minimum time to collision (TTC) was reduced from 2.97 s to 0.72 s, and crash rate increased from 0% to 46.4%. The passive take-over mode (TTC:2.97 s) is significantly preferred to the active take-over mode (TTC:0.15 s). In particular, the take-over performance was optimal under the condition of 6 s request time, non-task, and passive take-over mode. A single secondary task performed more engaged drivers than multiple tasks at the equivalent driving loading." @default.
