- W4285251018 abstract "Medical textile-based allergies are common problems occurring in different age groups of consumers. Different types of contact dermatitis as well as respiratory-related complications are the most crucially important allergic reactions triggered by textiles. These disorders may be caused by reaction to textile fibres, textile dyes and various finishing agents. Products which are used in sensitive parts of the human body may result in irritation and sensitization. Personal care products, face masks, hospital gowns, wound dressings, compression stockings, prosthetic textiles and sutures are the most common sources of allergies. The growing awareness about healthcare has led to an increase in the demand for safe products. Antiallergic materials or finishing as well as antiallergic drug delivery systems are effective methods to overcome the problems associated with textile allergies. Thus, it is necessary that all medical textiles are thoroughly examined in terms of skin irritation and systemic toxic effects to ensure their safety." @default.
