- W4285294025 abstract "The present paper briefly elaborates about the influence of varying compression ratio’s upon overall performance, and emission characteristics of turbocharged direct injection (TDI) engine fuelled with polanga biodiesel (PB20) diesel blend keeping injection timing, injection pressure, speed fixed at 21° bTDC, 210 bar and 1500 rpm. Results depicted polanga biodiesel with advanced CR of 18:1 gives higher brake thermal efficiency of 5.65%↑, lower specific fuel consumption of 15.59%↓ than diesel fuel at 16.5:1 CR at higher load. Considering the emission characteristics, PB20+18:1 (CR) depicts lowest carbon monoxide (40.21%↓), hydrocarbon (37.89%↓), oxides of nitrogen (4.16%↓) and smoke opacity (24.19%↓) than conventional diesel fuel operated in single fuel mode with standard compression ratio of 16:1 at maximum loading condition. Hence it was concluded that polanga biodiesel 20% may be utilized as a substitute fuel to present diesel fuel and advancement in CR from 16.5:1 to 18:1 improved engine overall performance and exhaust emission." @default.
