- W4285306064 abstract "High-rate GPS has long been highly recognized in source studies of large earthquakes due to its unclipping and unambiguous advantages in recording both static and dynamic ground displacements. Compared to daily GPS, earthquake-induced static displacements registered by high-rate GPS excels in its immunization to any contamination of early post-seismic signals. High-rate multi-GNSS, rather than only GPS, would be able to achieve higher displacement precisions for earthquake detections. Very high-rate broadband strong-motion displacements with sufficient displacement precision can be computed by integrating collocated high-rate GPS with accelerometers using a Kalman filter, which is coined as “seismogeodesy” since a geodetic instrument and a seismological instrument are combined for a common goal. In this chapter, we analyze the noise characteristics of high-rate multi-GNSS displacements and their integration with accelerometers and gyroscopes (i.e., rotational seismometers)." @default.
