- W4285309186 abstract "Metabolic syndrome is a common metabolic disorder that has become a major public health problem, including diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. The effects of phytonutrients on metabolic syndrome have been elucidated in many studies. These plant-based natural compounds have been shown to have significant effects on obesity, diabetes, kidney, and cardiovascular diseases due to their different chemical structures and multiple biological effects. Despite all these positive properties, the poor solubility, low stability, and bioavailability of these compounds prevent them from being used effectively. Nanoformulations of these compounds can help increase their solubility and bioavailability, and significantly increase their effectiveness. This chapter provides a comprehensive introduction to the different applications of nanoformulation of phytonutrients in the management of metabolic syndrome. The therapeutic and alleviating effects of nanoformulations of different secondary metabolites such as resveratrol, emodin, berberine, curcumin, and quercetin, which have been investigated the most so far, have been investigated, discussed, and even the pathways and molecular targets affected by these compounds are specified. Besides, studies examining the effects of nanoformulations of other commonly available phytonutrients on metabolic syndrome are compiled. The administration of these compounds via nanocarriers has shown beneficial effects in the treatment of metabolic syndrome, and some compounds have been found successful in clinical trials, therefore they can be considered as promising agents." @default.
