Through his comedic impersonations, he plays both himself as an ethnic minority as well as the other characters who view him from a majority-race perspective, and through these humorous interactions, he dramatizes the process of identity formation. The autobiographical one-man shows he performs on the stage show the challenges of identity construction for an ethnic minority, while also emphasizing how self-construction depends upon boundaries of difference.
