Wilcken describes her recent theatrical collaboration with the Brooklyn-based Haitian dance group, La Troupe Makandal, whereas Dirksen follows Vodou adept Konpè Filo as he works in Haiti to simultaneously destigmatize Vodou religious practice and reforest the country by planting and promoting the stewardship of the sacred mapou tree.
