- W4285405004 abstract "We have investigated the proximity effect between the ferromagnetic and the charge-ordered antiferromagnetic bilayer thin film samples. The different thicknesses of the ferromagnetic layer of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) were deposited on Nd0.5Ca0.5MnO3 (NCMO) layer with a fixed thickness of 90 nm, which is well grown on SrTiO3 (001) substrates. Magnetic and transport measurements show that the ferromagnetic transition and metal to insulator transition temperature decrease with decreasing LSMO thickness, in contrast to the magnetic moments at 70 kOe, and coercivity increases gradually. The transport measurement shows the LSMO thickness down to 5 nm for which LSMO remains insulating at low temperatures. This indicates that the dead layer thickness is 2 nm when LSMO is deposited on NCMO. The 2 nm thick LSMO bilayer thin film exhibits insulating behaviour up to 50 kOe, and the film transforms into a metallic phase and shows a clear metal to insulator transition when a magnetic field ≥70 kOe is applied." @default.
