Agricultural experts have conducted several researches to solve certain problems in this domain. To tackle the challenges of the agricultural domain, artificial intelligence with its laborious learning capabilities has become a demanding tool. Different automated and semi-automated systems have been developed to help farmers and agricultural experts, providing a better solution to agriculture-related problems throughout the world. There are many factors that are responsible for unpredictable insect pests outbreaks such as meteorologic change, host plant phenological patterns and exchange of pest-infested material, internationally. Integrated pest management (IPM) program stresses the use of natural resources for controlling the pests’ populations as it's an ecologically based management tactic that relies on different biological and environmental variables. The role of agricultural experts is of great importance in IPM but it's so time-consuming and labor-intensive process to monitor pest population manually. Now, it becomes so crucial to develop an intelligent system that considers all factors, including different abiotic and biotic variables for pests’ occurrence predictions for timely applications of pesticides in the field. This chapter discusses the manipulation of different artificial intelligence-based data modeling approaches in pest management." @default.
