Se incluyeron en total 214 personas, la cirugía más frecuente fue el cambio aórtico (43,9%), la hipertensión estuvo presente en el 48,6% de los pacientes, la mortalidad global intrahospitalaria fue del 5,6%, el tiempo de estancia hospitalaria promedio en la UCI fue de 3 días. Durante el seguimiento, el ácido láctico fue mayor en quienes fallecieron, presentándose la mayor diferencia a las 12 h, las variables que influyen en el cambio del ácido láctico fueron: tiempo de clamp aórtico, sangrado mediastinal > 1.000 cc, nitrógeno ureico y el uso de 2 inotrópicos, los factores que aumentan el riesgo de mortalidad fueron: el ácido láctico mayor a 3 mmol/l RR: 13,96 (IC: 1,55- 125,9) y el sangrado mediastinal > 1.000 cc, RR: 2,55; IC: 1,00-6,51. El ácido láctico mostró ser un factor asociado a la mortalidad en los diferentes momentos de la monitorización, siendo mayor en las personas que fallecen.
