The application of PET in oncology developed gradually and nowadays the most widely used radiopharmaceutical in oncologic studies is the F18-labeled glucose (FDG). The fused images from PET/CT greatly assist image interpretation and offer more accurate staging and diagnosis. However, there are a number of limitations.
