- W4286515898 abstract "ZrB2-SiC composite powder is synthesized by heating ZrSi2, B4C and C at 1300 °C and 1500 °C for two hours under a constant flow of Argon gas during the reaction process. After heating, the powders are characterized and the results confirm the formation of desired products i.e. ZrB2-SiC composite powder. Whereas heating the primary powder mixture at 1000 °C for 1 h under Argon atmosphere does not undergo any significant reaction changes. After heating at three different temperatures X-ray Diffractor was used to authenticate the resultant phases present in the powder. Composite powder heated at 1500 °C is analyzed through Field Emission Electron Micrograph and Energy Dispersive X-Ray to find out the distribution of resultant composite powder and measure the resultant powder size. This in-situ synthesis of ZrB2-SiC leads to better grain refinement and distribution, which is likely to increase the mechanical and chemical properties." @default.
