This technique has several unique benefits, such as low cost, no eddy-current issue, and no need for magnetic cores. The prior papers mainly focus on the coupler structure, compensation, and system topology. However, there are few works on the small-signal research, which is necessary for the linear controller design. This paper is to develop the small-signal model for a capacitive power transfer system using series compensation. An equivalent T-model is used to simplify the original coupler model represented by six capacitors. Based on the fundamental assumption, the resonant tank is simplified and help to derive a fifth-order model. Simulation results are presented to justify the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed model, and the model is accurate up to one-fourth of the switching frequency." @default.
