The types of preparative methods for conducting polymers and their nanocomposites as well as factors such as temperature, pH, the concentration of monomers, and oxidants can affect the polymers’ shape and physical-chemical properties. The present chapter outlines the various preparative methodologies available for conducting polymers as well as their composites; chemical and electrochemical synthesis are outlined and critiqued. Some of the potential strategies to modify the properties of polymers and nanocomposites are also highlighted. The fabrication and importance of conducting polymer-based nanocomposites are then presented to spur further advances in this exciting field of research." @default.
