- W4289883933 abstract "The use of biochar to remove the contaminating agents from liquid effluent streams has been the subject of extensive research over the past decade. Biochar has been used to remove impurities from effluent streams. As a new adsorbing material having tremendous potential, biochar shows numerous advantages, including a wide range of feedstock sources, a simple preparation procedure, and attractive superficial area with pore structural merits. The present article presents an overall perspective on the current achievements in biochar-based approaches in waste effluent clarification while removing a wide variety of organic and inorganic harmful contaminants and a brief description of the sorptive activities and mechanisms involved with the contaminating chemical mitigation. Furthermore, environmental issues about biochar that need to be addressed and future research possibilities are proposed in order to encourage the further implementation of biochar in practical water, and wastewater treatment applications are discussed." @default.
