- W4290581514 abstract "This research aims primarily to shed light on the impact of work stress and job burnout on employees’ turnover intention in the hotel industry. Furthermore, it aims to identify the effect of work stress on job burnout besides examining the potential mediating role of job burnout in the relationship between work stress and employees’ turnover intentions in Egyptian hotels. For achieving this aim, the questionnaire was designed for Egyptian hotel employees and structured to cover four key parts: (1) demographic characteristics of employees of hotels, (2) work stress items, (3) job burnout items, and (4) turnover intentions. Structural equation modeling (SEM) results were obtained using AMOS software, IBM, version 24. The results indicate that job burnout partially mediates the relationship between work stress and turnover intentions. To be more specific, work stress has a significant positive effect on the turnover intention (β = +0.40, p < 0.01), and a significant positive effect on job burnout (β = +0.43 p < 0.01). Thus, there exists a strong positive association between work stress and turnover intentions as well as a positive association between job burnout and work stress. The findings of this study would help policymakers, hotel managers as well as practitioners to formulate policies for lessening the work stress, job burnout, and turnover intentions among hotel employees." @default.
