- W4291012196 abstract "In today’s world, researchers and scientists are exploring materials that can provide a wide range of properties under severe working environments. Functionally graded materials are the kind of inhomogeneous materials with gradual variation in properties with the position. These FGMs can be processed through a wide variety of processing methods, such as vapor deposition technique, centrifugal casting, solid free-form fabrication methods, and so on. However, in recent times, the world is looking for sustainable manufacturing and materials processing techniques. Microwave material processing is associated with lower processing time and high-energy efficiency properties that make it sustainable and has been used to produce functionally graded materials of a wide variety of metal matrix composite materials. In the present research work, a review study was carried out regarding the processing of functionally graded materials through the microwave heating route. The various findings related to microwave sintering-based functionally hierarchical materials and microwave-processed functionally graded clads are reported in this chapter." @default.
