In the absence of well calibration and good quality reflection seismic data, it is often challenging to predict reservoir presence and quality across structures and correlate stratigraphic packages from footwall to hanging walls. Moreover, many carbonate buildups nucleate on fault blocks at different structural elevations. In addition to water level fluctuations, fault timing plays a key role in determining reservoir presence. One approach is to develop kinematic forward models as they can constrain fault timing, stratigraphic positions and isostatically modified fault shapes (Bosence et al., 1998), which are not possible using simple kinematic restoration methods. In this study, forward models are utilized to (a) understand carbonate reservoir distribution on uplifted footwall blocks, and (b) predict depth of source rock deposits in hanging wall half grabens. Keywords: forward model, isostasy, rifting, normal fault, carbonatePermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/image2022-3737600.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails Second International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & EnergyISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2022 Pages: 3694 publication data© 2022 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the American Association of Petroleum GeologistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 15 Aug 2022 CITATION INFORMATION Shamik Bose, Brian J.
