The seismic coverage of the BSS varies, and lack of drilling in many places makes it difficult to assess the potential and efficacy of associated petroleum-system elements. One way to address these issues is by using well-known analogues as geologic references. This study represents the first application of the Appalachian Superbasin as an analogue for better understanding the regional development of Permo- Carboniferous tectonostratigraphy and petroleum systems across the BSS in terms of compressional tectonism. Keywords: flexural modeling, tectophase, temperate-water carbonates, organic-rich shales, warm-water carbonatesPermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/image2022-3738174.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails Second International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & EnergyISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2022 Pages: 3694 publication data© 2022 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the American Association of Petroleum GeologistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 15 Aug 2022 CITATION INFORMATION Gustavo Martins, Frank R.
