- W4295021490 abstract "Because of the excellent properties of radiation resistance, corrosion resistance and low thermal expansion coefficient, Zirconium (Zr) based alloys have became one of the most potential new structural materials in the field of aeronautics and astronautics. In recent years, many new Zr based alloys have been developed. However, the “Banana-type” strength-plasticity inversion relation is still hard to breakthrough. According to the extreme non-equilibrium dynamic conditions of laser metal deposition (LMD) and the idea of nano-coherent phase strengthening and toughening, in this paper, ultra-high strength ZrTiAl alloy with good elongation has been fabricated by LMD and subsequent heat treatment. The combination of micrometer-scale hexagonal close-packed (HCP) α matrix phase and nano-coherent D019-(TiZr)3Al precipitated phase exhibits excellent comprehensive mechanical properties with ultra-high strength (1620 MPa) and good elongation (11%). In addition, the microstructure evolution, the phase transformation, and the mechanism of deformation have also been discussed." @default.
