- W4295365537 abstract "This chapter defines in detail the contribution of the Traditional Resource Users (TRUs) of the mangrove forest in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Aichi Biodiversity Targets. It also develops a conceptual framework that will help to understand the resilience capacity and the conservation of the resources of the mangrove ecosystem. It depicts resilience indicators of Socio-Ecological Production Landscapes and Seascapes (SEPLS) and presents a comparative analysis of the resilience capacity of the Sundarbans under two different scenarios. It demonstrates that customary sustainable practices and traditional knowledge of the TRUs augment conservation through restoration and sustainable uses of biodiversity, if TRUs are given a chance and get supported by the government and non-government agencies. The discussion and results overall consist of (a) enhanced understanding of the value of mangrove for building resilience through bio-cultural diversity, (b) exploring area-based conservation and ecosystem-based solutions and (c) assisting the local coastal communities to become key contributors in making the ecosystem more resilient by ensuring their rights." @default.
