- W4297788128 abstract "Abstract. The incidence of antibiotic resistance can be caused by various things, including the use of antibiotics without a prescription. To overcome this, new alternative antibacterial compounds from natural sources are needed. One of the natural sources in question is honey. The research was conducted using a literature review method from articles and research journals that have been published nationally and internationally. The purpose of this literature study was to examine the antibacterial activity of honey against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and to determine the active compounds in honey that have activity against these bacteria. The inclusion criteria for data collection were journals in Indonesian or English, fully accessible, and having the keywords Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Honey Anti bacterial Effect Active Compound of Honey. The exclusion criteria were review articles, scientific articles that could not be fully accessed. After passing the screening article review stage, 9 articles were obtained the inclusion criteria that could be studied further. From the results of the literature study, it was found that honey has the potential to inhibit the growth of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) by means of the active compounds in honey in the form of hydrogen peroxide, methylglioxal, methyl syringate and leptosperin which have antibacterial properties against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
 Abstrak. Kejadian resistensi antibiotik dapat disebabkan oleh berbagai hal, diantaranya adalah penggunaan antibiotik tanpa resep. Untuk mengatasi hal ini diperlukan senyawa antibakteri alternatif baru dari sumber alami. Salah satu sumber alami yang dimaksud ialah madu. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode systematic literature review dari artikel maupun jurnal penelitian yang telah dipublikasikan secara nasional maupun internasional. Tujuan studi literatur ini adalah mengkaji adanya aktivitas anti bakteri madu terhadap Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) dan mengetahui senyawa aktif pada madu yang memiliki aktivitas terhadap bakteri tersebut. Kriteria inklusi pengambilan data adalah jurnal berbahasa indonesia atau bahasa inggris, dapat diakses lengkap, dan memiliki kata kunci “Senyawa Aktif” “Antibakteri”, “Madu”, “Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus”. Kriteria ekslusi berupa artikel review dan artikel ilmiah yang tidak bisa diakses full text. Setelah melewati tahapan skrining artikel review, diperoleh sebanyak 9 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi untuk dikaji secara lebih lanjut. Dari hasil studi literatur didapatkan bahwa madu berpotensi menghambat pertumbuhan Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) dengan kandungan senyawa aktif pada madu berupa hidrogen peroksida, methylglioxal, methyl syringate dan leptosperin yang memiliki sifat antibakteri terhadap Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)." @default.
