• W4297788161 abstract "Abstract. Infection is a disease caused by pathogenic microbes and without clinical symptoms. Infection can lead to complications if not treated immediately. Infectious diseases can be treated with antibiotics. About 40-62% of antibiotics are used in an inappropriate way, namely for diseases that do not actually require the use of antibiotics. The use of antibiotics in Indonesia is quite high and inappropriate can cause resistance. The combination of antibiotics with herbal plants can overcome bacterial resistance and can kill bacteria that are already resistant to antibiotics. A plant when combined with antibiotics can provide a synergistic effect. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness combination of thymus herbaceous essential oil with antibiotics against antibacterial. The data used is the result of a search through the official website in the form of National and International journals totaling 8 journals. The results of this study indicate that the thymus genus has very high antibacterial properties so that it can increase the working effect of antibiotics, this can be observed in the results of the MIC values obtained. The smaller the MIC value, the better the antibacterial activity, thus providing a synergistic effect.&#x0D; Abstrak. Infeksi adalah suatu penyakit yang diakibatkan oleh bakteri patogen dan tanpa ditimbulkan oleh gejala klinik. Infeksi dapat menyebabkan komplikasi jika tidak segera ditangani. Penyakit infeksi dapat ditangani dengan menggunakan obat antibiotik. Kebanyakan 40% hingga 62% antibiotik digunakan dengan cara yang tidak tepat salah satunya yaitu pada penyakit yang tidak memerlukan penggunaan antibiotik. Antibiotik di Indonesia penggunaannya cukup tinggi dan kurang tepat dapat menyebabkan resistensi. Kombinasi antibiotik dengan tanaman herbal dapat mengatasi resistensi bakteri dan dapat membunuh bakteri yang kebal terhadap antibiotik. Suatu tanaman jika dikombinasikan dengan antibiotik maka dapat memberikan efek sinergis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui keefektifan kombinasi minyak atsiri herba marga thymus dengan antibiotik terhadap antibakteri. Data yang digunakan adalah data hasil dari pencarian melalui website resmi berupa jurnal Nasional dan Internasional berjumlah 8 jurnal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa herba marga thymus memiliki sifat antibakteri yang sangat tinggi sehingga dapat meningkatkan efek kerja pada antibiotik, hal ini dapat diamati pada hasil nilai MIC yang didapatkan. Semakin kecil nilai MIC maka semakin baik aktivitas antibakterinya, sehingga memberikan efek sinergis." @default.
