- W4297788208 abstract "Abstract. Excess solar radiation may harm the skin. Thus, additional protection like sunscreen is needed. Sunscreen contains chemical and physical (synthetic) UV filter materials to absorb, reflect, and scatter solar radiation before it hits the skin. UV filters that are unstable to light can be degraded and absorbed systematically into the skin. It is necessary to have a sound carrier system to prevent the UV filter from being degraded but still maintain an excellent photoprotective effect. Lipid-based nanoparticle carrier systems, such as solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) and nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC), can protect UV filters from degradation and reflect UV radiation due to their lipid content. To increase the safety of sunscreen preparations, adding natural ingredients may be considered to provide a photoprotective effect. So the use of UV filters can be reduced due to the antioxidant effect of plants that work synergistically with UV filters. This research was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The results obtained indicate that the use of lipid-based nanoparticles can prevent UV filter degradation because it is stable after irradiation, has a sustained release effect, increases the SPF value, and can reduce the use of UV filter concentration by adding natural ingredients that contain antioxidants.
@default.
