The spatial and temporal distribution of cavitational activities arise during nucleation, growth and subsequent collapse of microbubbles. Primary effect and/or secondary effect are discussed, which are vital during the identification the active and passive zones in the sonochemical reactor. In mapping the sonochemical reactor, the distribution of cavitational activities is determined by quantifying primary effect and/or secondary effect which helps in identifying the active and passive zones in sonochemical reactors. For an efficient reactor design, understanding and ensuring uniform distribution of the active zones plays an important role. By considering this, we present efficiency assessment methodology and an overview on various mapping techniques, highlighting their basic aspects, applicability, and merits/demerits." @default.
