- W4300656466 abstract "<h3>To the Editor.—</h3> Erythema nodosum (EN) is a well-recognized but poorly understood reaction of the skin to a diverse range of conditions. The most important of these are infections such as streptococcal infections, tuberculosis,<i>Yersinia</i>, and<i>Salmonella enteritidis</i>. Recently, EN has been found in patients with toxoplasmosis,<sup>1</sup><i>Campylobacter jejuni</i>enteritis,<sup>2</sup>and<i>Shigella flexneri</i>colitis.<sup>3</sup>We describe a case of EN caused by Q fever, an association not previously described. <h3>Report of a Case.—</h3> A previously healthy 20-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of fever and nonproductive cough of two weeks' duration. She was in the 20th week of her first pregnancy. Until two months previous to admission, she had been living in the country. On examination, only small (0.5 to 1 cm) tender lymph nodes were found in both laterocervical areas.
