- W4300805317 abstract "Nano-enabled agriculture is a hot topic. Chitosan is an environment-friendly biopolymer and is used to improve plant stress tolerance. Chitosan nanoparticles are attracting more attention in nano-enabled agriculture. Plant hormones are widely used in agriculture for increasing crop yield and quality. Nonetheless, hormones are easily degraded due to environmental factors, including temperature and light, and hence result in loss of their activity. The encapsulation and conjugation of hormones including salicylic acid indole-acetic acid and gibberellins (GA) in chitosan nanoparticles improved their efficacy and reduced the problems such as sorption and leaching while improving the growth performance of various crops. However, to date, to the best of our knowledge, no studies have been conducted to investigate the effect of chitosan nanoparticles on plant hormones. Thus, besides the introduction/summary of chitosan nanoparticles, plant hormones and the interactions between them, the impact of chitosan on plant hormones has been reviewed in this chapter to give a suggested reference for future researches regarding the effect of chitosan nanoparticles on hormones in plants. Overall, with more knowledge gained on the biological effect of chitosan nanoparticles in plants in near future, it might be recommended as a good candidate for nano-enabled agriculture and thus play an important role in sustainable agriculture." @default.
