- W4300818312 abstract "This paper demonstrates the application of MPC to improve the dynamic performance of an AVR. To observe the performance of an AVR when the terminal voltage of a generator deviates from its normal voltage, its transfer function is mathematically modeled and simulated. Thereafter a PID controller is introduced to enhance the system’s response after it has experienced voltage disturbances. The final model is an MPC-based AVR. The performance of these models is analyzed and compared critically for implementation on AVR systems and maintaining voltage stability The analysis of performance is conducted using response time, Peak voltage, and percentage overshoot as well as performance indices. The results are evaluated to show one of the feasible designs to maintain the constant terminal voltage of the AVR. The transient response of an MPC-based AVR has proven to be the best performing AVR system." @default.
